My name is Stephanie Rodriguez and I especially want to share my experience with iKeyMonitor so as to introduce another incredible use for the app that has not been mentioned in their Blog thus far. iKeyMonitor can potentially be a lifesaving tool with regard to the elderly as well as relatives suffering from a form of dementia such as Alzheimer’s. My husband and I had already intervened with regard to my father’s regular checkups at the doctor. His response of “All’s good. I ain’t dead yet” after every visit was not quite the response we were looking for. So we began chaperoning my father to the doctor. About a year ago, my father’s physician pulled me to the side and quietly asked if I knew whether or not Alzheimer’s had ever been diagnosed in our family. I panicked immediately. Dad’s doctor assured me that at this time it was merely an inquiry and told me not to panic. He also explained that one or two things that he had picked up on during the visit could simply be a result of aging. Although I did feel better, I was still concerned enough to realize this particular office visit was a head start and I intended to take full advantage of it. My husband and I sat down and brainstormed, bouncing ideas of how to prevent some of the more potentially dangerous behaviors. Using Google we looked up several different options but nothing seemed more logical than to try using an app that would enable us to track his phone. Using Google once again we came across an article that detailed the top 5 apps in this category, iKeyMonitor being one of them. Following the simple instructions, we downloaded the app and it has given us peace of mind ever since. Worst case scenario, iKeyMonitor can be crucial when a loved one has wandered off and could quite possibly assist in saving a life.
iKeyMonitor can do things and provide you with accurate real-time information in ways that I honestly did not realize were possible. Prior to beginning the installation and prepping of the target device I was somewhat intimidated. Especially after familiarizing myself with all of the app’s capabilities. I quickly realized that I couldn’t have been more wrong. Step-by-step instruction of the process of installation and adjustment of phone settings is provided as well as a YouTube video if that may be your preferred method of being instructed. The written directions are very clear and easy to understand. This app has the capability to log all correspondence and messaging via many different platforms such as Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, Kik, WhatsApp, and many more. Call logs from incoming and outgoing calls are logged as well as recordings of the conversation if one was had. It will trace and log activity on multiple social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Emails from multiple accounts can be viewed. And if that isn’t already enough, the app will capture screenshots of what is being viewed on the phone when it is in use.
For us, the most useful features are GPS tracking and Keystroke logging features and the function of the app to use the phone itself as a recording device that has the capability to record all noise(s) surrounding the actual phone itself. This feature will also allow scheduling giving the user the ability to set a “Start” and “Stop” time on a particular day of the week to capture audio. Similarly, it also has the ability to take photos of the phones’ surroundings using both the front and rear cameras.
Aging affects us all. The older we get, the older our grandparents and parents get as well. It can be very difficult to watch as our loved ones grow older every day. Add to that the very real possibility of dementia affecting them as well as all who love them.
With my father, the signs at first were very, very subtle. Thankfully they still are. But just knowing how very real the possibility was of literally losing him due to wandering off was a threat that was costing me my very peace of mind. Thanks to iKeyMonitor I can rest at night knowing that when, or if this happens I have the ability at my fingertips to track his phone and prevent him from suffering further harm. I can’t thank them enough.
